Smokey was appropriately given his name by our son, because of his colour as he is a blue/white, he is full of life & very cheeky. Smokey has great angulation, nice bone, a lovely coat, and he also has lovely ground covering movement with minimum lift of the feet. Smokey attended his first few shows where he has made a very impressive start to his show career he has won many Classes in Group in very strong competition, however Smokey's biggest win to date was in Canberra at the prestigious 2nd National Border Collie show, where he won Best Puppy in Show, there was an entrant of 30 pups from all over Australia, the judge was breed specialist Mr Ross Green (Fayken Kennels, UK) his critique on Smokey can be read below. 1st - Sashdan Smokin Joe - Sashdan Kennels

- Super blue/white dog of quality. He really is such a lovely picture in profile with super outline from back of skull through neck, withers, back, croup to tip of tail. I liked his head properties, nice kind and well placed eyes, ok ears, good skull and muzzle proportions correctly tapering to nose. Shoulder and upper arm were both good, really super top-line and croup with good angulation behind. Was sound out and back and had an easy and efficient side gait when moved at the correct pace. A very promising youngster who if he continues to mature will surely trouble the very best in the future. In the class challenge I had no doubt in awarding him Best Puppy in Show over the bitch who could not match his shoulder and upper arm. .........Mr Ross Green (Fayken Border Collies, UK)

Upon our arrival home from Canberra Smokey spent time at home where he enjoyed life being a puppy and maturing, it was not until late in 2010 when Smokey made his first appearances back in the show ring, where at nearly every show he attended he was awarded at least the dog CC, and was quickly collecting points towards his Australian Champion show title. During 2011, Smokey has not been shown at all in Australia, this was to no fault of his own and simply due to other commitments.
It is with a alot of saddness that we farewell Smokey in April 2011. He will leave us and to move onto bigger and better things, although I am extreamly sad to see Smokey leaving home, it is with great excitement that I would like to congratulate his new owners Mr Ross Green (Fayken) & Mrs Alicia Pennington (Tudorhurst) on aquiring Smokey. I am sure that they can tell you first hand how hard this was for me and just how long it took for me to agree for Smokey to travel.

Smokey has proven himself to be Best Puppy In Show at the Australian Border Collie National in 2010. He now moves overseas to show the world what he has to offer. I have every trust and confidance in Ross and know it will only be a matter of time before he and Smokey and achieving great things together.
